I have learned why boys shouldn't have their own set of tools. Close to Halloween of last year the Mighty "K" received a tool set and tool box. This tool set is so cool it comes with everything: a real kid size hammer, pliers, screwdrivers, clamps, safety goggles and even a pair of suspenders because every good worker can use a good pair of suspenders. About a week ago I was coming home from an eye appointment and received a phone call that the Mighty "K" had taken his hammer to his cute baby blue piggy bank. He wanted the money out and decided it would be quicker to break it in half than to take the stopper out of the bottom. When he was questioned about the incident this is his reply:
"But daddy I had on my safety glasses."
There is a comment that every dad with OSHA training can be proud of and every mom can laugh so hard she almost has to stop the car because she is laughing so hard.

That is just hilarious! Seriously though, there are way too many shows with kids opening their piggy banks with hammers... and none of them have safety glasses on. So he's definitely picking up good traits elsewhere. ;)
